Terms of Use

Last updated:

Summary: Mirato is free and you can use it without restrictions for playing and reading sheet music. We do not share your usage with third parties. We ask that you respect the intellectual property rights of the scores you import.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading or using Mirato you accept these Terms of Use. If you disagree with any of them, please do not use the application. These terms are governed by Spanish law and applicable European Union regulations.

2. Description of service

Mirato is an iPhone and iPad application that lets you view PDF sheet music and turn pages by detecting eye winks using the TrueDepth camera. The application works without an internet connection and requires no registration.

Mirato is offered free of charge in its current version. The developer reserves the right to introduce optional premium features in future versions, which will be clearly identified before any charge.

3. Licence

Pablo J. Dols grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use Mirato on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with Apple App Store usage rules.

Not permitted:

  • Copying, modifying, decompiling or reverse-engineering the application.
  • Distributing, sublicensing or selling the application or any part of it.
  • Using the application for illegal purposes or ones that infringe third-party rights.
  • Removing or altering copyright or intellectual property notices.

4. User content — PDF scores

You are solely responsible for the PDF files you import into Mirato. You must ensure you have the necessary rights to use those scores (e.g. they are in the public domain, you hold a publisher licence, or you created them yourself).

Mirato does not verify the origin of files you import. The developer is not responsible for use of scores without the corresponding rights.

5. Intellectual property

The Mirato name, its logo, visual design, source code and all application elements are the exclusive property of Pablo J. Dols and are protected by applicable intellectual and industrial property laws.

Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights in Mirato or its components to you.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

Mirato is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. In particular, there is no guarantee that the application will work uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will be compatible with all devices or iOS versions.

Wink detection depends on lighting conditions, the device and each user's settings. The developer does not guarantee a specific performance level for this feature.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Pablo J. Dols shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use Mirato, including data loss or interruptions during a musical performance.

8. Updates and availability

The developer may publish updates to Mirato at any time. Some updates may be mandatory to continue using certain features. The developer also reserves the right to suspend or withdraw the application at any time, with or without notice.

9. Amendments

We may update these Terms of Use at any time. The current version will always be available on this page with the last updated date. Continued use of Mirato after changes are published implies acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Spanish law. For any dispute arising from the use of Mirato, both parties submit, with express waiver of any other jurisdiction, to the courts and tribunals of Spain.
